It is the goal of AMIGOS Eye Care to return to the same sites year after year, providing eye care and building relationships, until a self-sustaining presence can be established.
Peru & Guatemala

Details:
This August, two teams of optometry students will be traveling to Zapallal, Peru and Ixcan, Guatemala. Our mission is to provide free, quality eye care to underserved communities around the world. On these upcoming trips, we’ll be providing full eye exams, fitting patients with glasses, and partnering with local ophthalmologists to establish sustainable care connections.
While we are fortunate to receive donated glasses and diagnostic tools, the costs of airfare, lodging, meals, and medical supplies add up quickly - especially with two simultaneous international service trips. As full-time student, we’re relying on fundraising to help make these missions possible.
